Magic Island

Magic Island is the name of my favorite beach in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. I was raised there. With this CD, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Hawaii’s radio station KTUH 90.3FM along side the honorary Miguel Migs while this CD was playing in the background. Big thanks to promoter Paul Shih!

Mango Bay Lounge

A few years ago my friend and old school Seattle promoter Mayi Picazo used to have this café in San Francisco with his brother called the Mango Bay. He said that they needed some lounge music so I whipped this extra fluffy soulful deep house CD. More interestingly, on a plane leaving Honolulu, world famous house music vocalist Lisa Shaw sat in the seat in front of me, so I gave her this CD. After we landed, she said it was so deep that it put her to sleep. Coming from her, I guess I take that as a compliment…?

off da’ hinges

A few years ago, because of some random crazy taxi driver, I was in really bad car accident where my brand new car got completely wrecked but I walked out of it without a scratch. Hence, the title of this CD, “off da’ hinges” of the car door. So to celebrate my gift of life, I made another predominantly Funky Disco House set with a twist of old school reminiscence CD!

Winter Dance

This Trance and Progressive CD was made back in 1997 during a long gloomy rainy and lonely winter to which was my inspiration. I would describe the sound as subtly epic, edgy, dark, emotional, and simply beautiful in its chaos. And the most flattering compliment to me was that some of my friends said that it made them get a little teary eyed in some parts of the mix for the emotions it brought out in them. Now looking back, this CD contains some timeless classic tracks that I too get teary eyed thinking of the good old days. By the way, the winter sound in the intro is manually spun and scratched in on a turntable using a scratch sample.

1739 Kalakaua (Live Set)

This was a Super-Funky-Disco-House-6AM-Afterhours live set from back in 1998 at Club 1739 Kalakaua in Honolulu, Hawaii. Though this particular mix is uniquely mine, I flew down to play this gig with one of my best of friends Zach J. (DJ Special Guest) from Groovetech.com. Re-mastered from a 90min cassette tape containing both sides A and B. Considering that, sorry for the gap interruption at 46mins and 54sec, keepin’ it reeaaaal!

This was a House mixed “Tape” back from 1996. And was one of the top download on the legendary and first of its kind, Groovetech.com! Rest in peace for now. I ran into its former CEO Jon C. a while ago and he said that he would like to bring it back. I guess there is a new squatter on this URL domain that won’t let go.
